PV systems destined to critical users, installed in positions which are difficult to be reached from the electrical distribution network.

Feeding remote users that do not have other available energy source, often placed in high mountain or in open sea, is the origin of the PV systems.

It is a completely different sector from the grid-connected photovoltaic energy: it requires technical skill and the employment of special devices, suitable to working conditions. Progetti Plant Renewable Energy, among the few in Italy, has always been involved in these types of systems.

The final users are normally alpine refuges, telecommunication stations, oil platforms, weather stations.
